It’s been a productive few weeks at the Cadet Academy, filled with engaging presentations, training, and memorable moments for our recruits.
Week 6:
Recruits took their PFQ #2 to assess their progress in physical fitness. They also had the opportunity to learn from the LAPD Metro Division and SWAT team, who shared insight into their specialized roles and training. The week ended on a lighter note with a visit from the LAPD Therapy Dog Team, promoting wellness and the importance of mental health.

Week 7:
This week focused on personal development and awareness. Recruits attended an Intelligent Dating workshop, followed by Physical Training. The day concluded with a vital Sexual Harassment Awareness presentation, emphasizing respect, boundaries, and professionalism.
Week 8:
Academics and digital safety took the spotlight. Recruits were introduced to the Police Orientation Preparation Program (POPP)—a unique opportunity to earn an associate’s degree while exploring a career in law enforcement. They also received an eye-opening presentation on Internet Crimes from Detective Brian Lee, followed by a strong PT session to wrap up the day.

Week 9:
A major milestone: Picture Day! Recruits proudly wore their full cadet uniforms for the first time, taking official platoon and individual photos. To conclude the day, Cadet helpers led a peer-led presentation, sharing their experiences and offering advice to help guide the recruits through the rest of the academy.
We’re proud of the growth and commitment shown by our recruits and look forward to what the next few weeks will bring!
