Congratulations to the 25 LAPD Cadets who successfully completed and graduated from the Devil Pups Youth Program for America at Marine Corps Base Camp Pendleton.
For more than 70 Years, Devil Pups has challenged young men and women through a rigorous 10-day encampment focused on leadership, teamwork, discipline, physical fitness, and personal responsibility. While the program introduces participants to Marine Corps values and traditions, it is not a military recruiting program. Instead, its mission is to help youth develop confidence, resilience, and strong character through mental and physical challenges.
Throughout the encampment, our cadets pushed beyond their comfort zones by participating in demanding physical activities, classroom instruction, leadership exercises, and team-building challenges. Their journey culminated with the ascent of Old Smokey, Camp Pendleton’s iconic peak, where they earned the distinction of becoming Devil Pups- a testament to their perseverance and commitment to never quitting.
The LAPD Cadet Program is proud of each graduate for representing our organization with professionalism, determination, and integrity. We look forward to seeing these young leaders bring the lessons they earned back to their cadet posts and continue serving as positive role models in their schools and communities.
