Week 11 brought another exciting and educational experience for our recruits at the LAPD Cadet Leadership Academy. The LAPD Air Support Division visited the academy and gave recruits an inside look into their daily operations, responsibilities, and the important role they play in keeping Los Angeles safe from above.
Recruits had the unique opportunity to explore an LAPD helicopter up close, learn about specialized equipment used by the division, and participate in memorable photo opportunities with the aircraft and officers.

The day also focused on preparing recruits for real-world responsibilities through an interactive financial literacy game. Recruits experienced budgeting challenges, unexpected life expenses, and financial decision-making scenarios they may face as young adults learning to support themselves independently.
To wrap up the day, recruits participated in safe driving instruction, where they learned about the responsibilities that come with being a teen driver, the importance of defensive driving, and making smart decisions behind the wheel.
As the academy quickly approaches its final stretch, recruits now have only one more week remaining before completing this unforgettable journey. Week 13 will mark graduation, where recruits will officially become cadets. The countdown to graduation has officially begun, and excitement continues to build as recruits prepare to cross the finish line.
