Week 6 brought an exciting lineup of activities for our recruits. The day began with a special presentation from LAPD SWAT, where recruits learned about the elite unit’s operations and had the chance to see the armored SWAT vehicle and drone up close. It was an unforgettable opportunity to hear directly from the officers who handle some of the department’s most critical incidents.
Afterward, the recruits pushed their limits during their second Physical Fitness Qualifier (PFQ) a true test of their endurance and progress since the start of the academy.
Following the PFQ , recruits received the remainder of their issued gear, including their PT gear and Class A uniforms, marking another milestone in their academy journey.
To wrap up the day, they attended a financial literacy class, learning essential skills for budgeting, saving, and making smart financial choices. Lessons that will benefit them well beyond the academy.
